You can turn on the guides from the overhead menu View and there are three commonly used guides that I’m going to show you how to add today. Illustrator can seem intimidating at first but it helps to get familiar with its main tools. It's weird because I distinctly remember being able to do this a while ago, where your clicks would be moved to the nearest rounded coordinate, meaning you could draw square grid art super quickly.Before adding guides, Adobe Illustrator needs your permission to show them. The most powerful drawing tool found in Illustrator is the Pen tool. With the Curvature tool, you focus on adding, editing, and removing anchor points to control the look of a path. I've tried Snap to Grid, I've tried Snap to Guides, I've tried both together, nothing seems to work - I want my clicks to automatically snap to the nearest intersection, like Illustrator and Photoshop are able to do.Īre my settings wrong, or does AE not support snapping of the pen tool vertices? I've been able to get anchor points and text to snap, but not vertices as I'm clicking them in.
